Route Weather ("the extension") is a free, unofficial browser extension that shows a weather forecast along a route in the Komoot and Strava web route planners. By installing, enabling, or using the extension you agree to this Disclaimer & Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the extension and uninstall it.

It is provided by Velosophic Life ("we", "our", or "us").

1. Unofficial and not affiliated with Komoot or Strava

The extension is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or approved by Komoot, Strava, or any of their affiliates. "Komoot" and "Strava" and related names and logos are trademarks of their respective owners and are used here only to describe the sites the extension is compatible with. Any use of these marks is for identification and compatibility purposes only and does not imply any relationship with the trademark owner.

2. Use at your own risk

You use the extension entirely at your own risk. It is provided free of charge, on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without any guarantee that it will work, that it will continue to work, or that it is suitable for any particular purpose. You are solely responsible for deciding whether and how to rely on anything the extension displays.

3. No warranty

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the extension and its developers, maintainers, and operators (together, "we", "us", "our") disclaim all warranties and conditions, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the extension will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components, or that any data it displays is accurate, complete, or timely.

4. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we accept no responsibility or liability for any issue, loss, or damage of any kind arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the extension. This includes, without limitation, direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, and any loss of or damage to persons, property, data, profits, or goodwill, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.

5. Weather data is informational only — not for safety-critical use

The extension displays forecast model data, not live observations and not radar. Values are interpolated to an estimated time of arrival and may be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, or unavailable. Weather can change faster than any forecast. Do not rely on the extension for safety-critical, emergency, aviation, marine, mountaineering, or navigation decisions, or for any situation where inaccurate information could lead to injury, death, or property damage. Always consult official weather and safety sources before and during any activity. You are responsible for your own safety and for the decisions you make while riding or navigating.

6. Third-party data and services

Forecasts are supplied by Open-Meteo under the CC BY 4.0 licence. We do not control this provider and do not guarantee its accuracy, availability, coverage, or continued operation. The provider, the host sites, or the extension may change, fail, be rate-limited, or be discontinued at any time, with or without notice, and the extension may stop working as a result.

7. No first-party backend or account

The extension has no first-party backend, no first-party server, no account, no sign-in, no session, and no token. It does not send data to any Velosophic domain. Forecast requests go directly from your browser to Open-Meteo. It does not use the Strava API, OAuth, API tokens or stored credentials, and a signed-in session on a host site remains that site's own session.

8. Your responsibilities, host-site terms, and changes to the host sites

The extension interacts with websites owned and operated by third parties (Komoot and Strava). You are responsible for complying with each site's terms of service and with all applicable laws and regulations when using the extension. A host site may change its code, layout, or policies at any time, which may cause the extension to malfunction, and we are not responsible for any such breakage or for any action a host site takes in response to the extension, including suspending or terminating your account.

9. Privacy

The extension handles a limited amount of data as described in the Privacy Policy. By using the extension you acknowledge that policy.

10. Changes to this disclaimer

We may update this Disclaimer & Terms from time to time. When we do, we will increment the version above and, where required, ask you to acknowledge the new version before you can continue using the extension. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
