Weather for the ride, not just the map.

Route Weather reads the route you are planning in Komoot or the Strava Route Builder and shows the forecast at each point at your estimated time of arrival — from departure to arrival, without leaving the planner.

Unofficial. Not affiliated with or endorsed by Komoot or Strava. Forecasts are informational only. No account, no fees, no tracking.

How it works

Three steps on the map

1

Open a supported planner

Plan or load a route in the Komoot planner, or open the Strava Route Builder and load a route. Route Weather only observes the page you already have open.

2

Read the ride forecast

The panel opens automatically. It samples the route by time from departure to arrival, using the planner's duration where available and your average speed otherwise.

3

Explore the conditions

Scan the summary, scroll the sample strip, and click a map marker for the temperature, weather symbol, precipitation, wind and distance at that point.

Supported planners

Komoot

The blank planner and saved-tour editor. Route Weather uses Komoot's estimated duration when it is plausible, and per-point elevation when Komoot provides it.

Strava Route Builder

The blank Route Builder and saved-route editor. Strava does not supply a planner duration, so the forecast uses your configured average speed. A signed-in Strava account with route-creation access is required.

Features

Weather where you plan

Everything you need to judge the conditions along a route, without leaving the planner.

Komoot and Strava

Works in the Komoot planner and the Strava Route Builder, including saved routes. Komoot and Strava are named only to describe compatibility — Route Weather is not affiliated with either.

Weather at your ETA

Each point on the route is sampled at the time you expect to reach it, so a climb late in the ride is not shown as if you were there now.

The full ride conditions

Temperature and feels-like temperature, precipitation amount and chance, conditions, wind speed and direction, gusts, and headwind, tailwind or crosswind.

A summary you can scan

The panel starts with the temperature range, any rain window, and the strongest headwind, so the shape of the ride is clear before you dig in.

A panel that stays out of the way

Drag the panel by its header or collapse it to a compact floating weather button. Metric or imperial units, the planner's duration or your own average speed, and a configurable sampling interval.

Private by construction

No account, no first-party backend, no analytics and no ads. Only route sample coordinates and optional elevation are sent to Open-Meteo, solely to fetch the forecast.

Unofficial & provided as is

Route Weather is an independent project, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or approved by Komoot or Strava. Forecasts come from Open-Meteo and are forecast model data — not live observations and not radar. They are informational only and must not be used for safety-critical decisions. Review the Disclaimer & Terms and Privacy Policy.
